| Microbial Assessment |
|
A major contributor to building related illness is microbial contamination. Pathogenic molds and certain bacteria species, while naturally occurring outdoors, can also amplify in an indoor environment. Air, swab, bulk, and vacuum samples are collected, cultured at the laboratory, and further analyzed for bacteria and mold types and species as indicated, to determine the extent and severity of contamination. PCA uses only AIHA EMLap certified laboratories for analysis. Interpretation of sample results is critical to understanding whether a problem exists. PCA has access to many resources from which to research and interpret sample results including: standards, guidelines, and published toxicological data. |
