Process Safety Management (PSM) Audits
Consistent with the PSM standard and in preparation for Risk Management Plans, we conduct audits of existing programs. The audits follow OSHA criteria for each of the 14 elements of PSM. An audit team is frequently divided into subgroups to assess individual elements. The team can be exclusively from PCA, but is usually mixed with site or company personnel. Findings and recommendations are summarized in a final report, formatted to track follow-up response to the recommendations.

Hazard Analysis
This integral part of PSM uses several different techniques to systematically work through a chemical process to identify and prioritize possible failures. A team approach decides the probability and severity of those failures, making recommendations for further study or improvement as appropriate.

Computer Modeling and Risk Management Development
The Risk Management Plan (RMP), driven by EPA requirements, is built on the PSM program. With additional information such as accident histories and the organizational arrangement for implementing PSM/RMP, computerized chemical release scenarios can determine downwind concentrations and areas likely to be affected by a release.

Other Related Program development
PSM affects other safety and health programs. We develop lockout/tagout, confined space, and respiratory protection programs as required by PSM, but with application to the entire facility. These programs are all site specific and client user oriented.
